Sports Medicine

Langlade Hospital's Sports Medicine program, located at the Sports Medicine Complex (2120 Progress Avenue) offers area athletes an opportunity to train for optimal performance and injury prevention, through our SportFit program. Rehabilitation services are also offered at the Sports Medicine Complex.

SportFit - Optimal Performance Strength and Conditioning

Each athlete enrolled in the SportFit program has a research based training regimen designed to meet their goals. Each training regimen also takes into consideration the results of that athletes pre-testing results. Testing includes sprint speed, strength, agility, vertical jump, and power.

Once the pre-test information is gathered then a program is designed to peak that athletes strength, power, and speed at the start of his/her competitive season. The conditioning protocols, design by Greg Renfro BS, PTA, CSCS comes from research conducted by the National Strength and Conditioning Association that shows the periodized model of strength training and conditioning to be superior to other training strategies . After an athlete completes 4-8 weeks of conditioning then post-tests are completed to determine the effectiveness of that athletes training regimen. Modifications to the program are performed on a 4 week basis to insure continual progress and that overtraining is prevented.

SportFit is available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00pm-5:00 pm.
SportFit = 28.00/month
